Sofia - the capital of Bulgaria - has a history dating back
to as early as 7000 years ago. Thracian and Roman remnants
of great cultural and archeological value can be seen
throughout the city center. The majority of historic buildings,
dating from the turn of the century, have recently been restored
under the "Beautiful Bulgaria" project and are tourist sights.
